CalTax President Robert Gutierrez was elected leader of the National Taxpayers Conference on August 23 for a 2024-25 term.
NTC is a professional organization representing the executive staff of tax and fiscal policy organizations throughout the country.
During its annual meeting, held this year in Boise, NTC members met with Idaho Governor Brad Little (photo, left) and discussed association management issues and state tax policy trends. The meeting was hosted by Miguel Legarreta, president of the Associated Taxpayers of Idaho.
NTC welcomed newcomer Jennifer Rabb, president of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association, and first-time attendee Michael DiBiase, president of the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council.
Ashley Harpstreith, executive director of the Wyoming Taxpayers Association, was elected vice president and Rusty Cannon, president of the Utah Taxpayers Association, was elected to serve as secretary.
Other attendees included Richard Anklam (New Mexico Tax Research Institute), Dominic Calabro (Florida TaxWatch), Cindy Creighton (Nevada Taxpayers Association), Kevin McCarthy (Arizona Taxpayer Research Association), Carol Portman and Maurice Scholten (Taxpayer Federation of Illinois), Bob Story (Montana Taxpayers Association), and Tom Yamachika (Tax Foundation of Hawaii).
