Manhattan Beach Teachers Union Holding Students Hostage to Their Demands

The union wants a 9 percent salary increase. The district says the district's finances will not support such largesse. The district also forecasts that the district will lose $2.8 million if Proposition 30 does not pass in November.

Judith Bloom, mother of a high school senior, said, "This is the most student-hostile manifesto I have ever seen." (Source: The Beach Reporter, August 29.)
