Berkeley Police Use 10 Officers to Search for Phone Stolen From Police Chief's Son

Ten Berkeley police officers – some on overtime – were used to search for a stolen cell phone owned by the son of the Berkeley police chief. Police Chief Michael Meehan said no preferential treatment was given to the search for the phone, which was stolen from a school locker. He said field officers determine how many officers to put on a case. (Source: Santa Rosa Press-Democrat, May 24.)
